Transformation Myths – for broadcast on BBC Radio Suffolk

Deadline is Sunday 28 November 2021 at 23:59 GMT

‘What was before is left behind; what never was is now; and every passing moment is renewed’ – Ovid

Share your stories of change and transformation – real or imagined – as part of our Wolsey Writers autumn season: Metamorphoses by Ovid. We are inviting creative writers across Suffolk to contribute to a showcase of original work for broadcast on BBC Radio Suffolk in December 2021. This is a collaboration with the Jon Wright Show (@JournoJon). It’s free to submit.

All submissions should, in some way, be a response to the theme ‘Metamorphoses’ and meet either of the following criteria:

  1. Transformation Myth: A transformation myth set in Suffolk; it could be inspired by the natural world or a real location. 1,000 words max.
  2. 500 Freestyle: A piece of writing about change or transformation. Flash fiction, monologue, other prose forms (including non-fiction) and poetry are all eligible. 500 words max.

A curated selection of new writing will be chosen from the eligible submissions. All submissions must be made via email to katie@katieward.co.uk

Enjoy the creative process. Write what you love.
